## In brief: What is airline operations software?

Airline operations software gives the operations control centre and flight operations teams a shared view of the flight programme and the records behind it: schedules, movement times, fuel, documents, delays, and punctuality. FlightAtom covers this work with independent products: FLIGHT Ai for flight records and fuel analytics, PINAX Ai for the operating day and on-time performance, and VISION Ai for dashboards built on your own data.

## Choose the product: Match the job to the product.

FLIGHT Ai, PINAX Ai, and VISION Ai are independent products. Choose the source record and decision you need to support.

**Choose the product for the record you need.**

| Job | Product | Output to review |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Review a return document or fuel variance | [FLIGHT Ai](https://www.flightatom.com/products/flight.html) | Extracted fields alongside source documents, flight records, and planned-versus-actual fuel measures. |
| Follow the operating day and explain punctuality | [PINAX Ai](https://www.flightatom.com/products/pinax.html) | A shared wallboard, flight-level detail, historical comparisons, and management briefs. |
| Build a dashboard around an assigned dataset | [VISION Ai](https://www.flightatom.com/products/vision.html) | A reviewed dashboard version and PDF reports built from datasets or published widgets. |

## Fuel analysis: Explain the difference between planned and actual fuel.

In FLIGHT Ai, compare the same set of flights, inspect fuel variance, and read trends over the selected period. The current interface below uses demonstration data.

### Start with comparable records

Choose a period and check which flights have both planned and actual values. A change in coverage can change the apparent result.

### Review document evidence

Use the Compare data view to line up each figure the document AI read with its source document and the recorded flight, and tag any document it could not classify in the review queue.

### Take a specific finding forward

Bring the flight, source values, and variance into the review, rather than treating an aggregate trend as an operational instruction.

## Daily performance: Share the day, then investigate the detail.

PINAX Ai puts daily flight progress and performance in one view. Use historical analysis to examine punctuality, delays, and the denominator behind a management question. Actual interface; demonstration data.

### Locate the question in the operating day

Begin with the shared wallboard and the relevant flight or period.

### Check the supporting detail

Review flights and delay evidence before drawing a conclusion from a headline measure.

### Prepare a reviewable brief

Keep the selected period, measure definition, source coverage, and management finding together.

### Operational boundaries

Source connections, refresh timing, and implementation scope must be agreed for the deployment. PINAX Ai analytics are deterministic; FLIGHT Ai document readings are used without a per-field human check, so confirm a figure against its source document before acting on it. These workflows do not constitute an approved dispatch or flight-release system.

## Dashboards: Build a different view when the question changes.

VISION Ai lets an authorized user create and refine a dashboard from assigned data, then publish a reviewed version and prepare PDF reports.

### Explore dashboard building

Describe a chart, refine it with visible controls, and check the figures before publication.

## Evaluation: What to check before you choose.

Use the same questions for every product you compare, and ask to see each answer in the product.

**Evaluation checklist for airline operations and flight analytics software**

| What to check | Why it matters | How FlightAtom approaches it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Source of the record | A measure is only as reliable as the feed behind it. | FLIGHT Ai and PINAX Ai name their operational source and label estimates, stale inputs, and missing data. |
| Metric definitions | Different tools can report different punctuality for the same day when their denominators differ. | PINAX Ai reports departure and arrival punctuality with the eligible-flight count behind each percentage. |
| Drill-down | A headline number needs the flights behind it before anyone acts on it. | FLIGHT Ai and PINAX Ai move from the summary to flight-level schedule, aircraft, and OUT, OFF, ON, IN timing evidence. |
| Fuel comparison | Planned-versus-actual fuel is misleading when the flights compared are not the same set. | FLIGHT Ai compares planned and measured burn on matching eligible flights and shows explicit data gaps. |
| Document review | Return documents hold values that never reach the flight record. | FLIGHT Ai extracts structured fields from load sheets, fuel slips, and logbooks and shows each value beside its source. |
| Reporting | Management needs the same figures the control centre sees. | PINAX Ai produces daily PDF briefs, and VISION Ai turns assigned data into dashboards and scheduled PDF reports. |

## Questions & answers: Common questions about airline operations software.

### What does an operations control centre use software for?

An operations control centre uses software to follow the day's flights, movement times, aircraft and crew status, delays, and disruption, and to brief management on performance. PINAX Ai provides the daily wallboard and punctuality analysis, and FLIGHT Ai provides flight records, fuel analytics, and document review.

### Is this a flight planning or dispatch system?

No. FLIGHT Ai, PINAX Ai, and VISION Ai analyse and present operational records. Flight planning, dispatch release, and performance calculations stay in the operator's approved systems.

### What should we compare in flight analytics platforms?

Compare the data sources each platform reads, how every measure is defined, whether the underlying flights can be inspected, how missing data is shown, and how results are exported or reported to management.

### How is airline on-time performance measured?

On-time performance is usually reported as the share of flights departing or arriving within 15 minutes of schedule, known as D15 and A15. PINAX Ai reports both with the number of eligible flights behind each percentage.
