DELPHI · Aurora add-on

DELPHI aviation document search

DELPHI adds cited search across operator-uploaded manuals and documents. Teams can ask a question, inspect the supporting passage, and keep weak evidence and uncertainty visible.

Ask operational questions. Inspect the evidence.

Search operator-uploaded aviation documents in natural language and review source cards with document, type, section, page, confidence, and groundedness context.

Corpus Control

Know exactly what is searchable.

Ingest supported documents, organize collections and categories, and track processing status, versions, effective dates, and reviewed supersession links.

Quality Review

Improve the knowledge system without hiding uncertainty.

Use query logs, user feedback, analytics, review signals, and evaluation runs to investigate weak results and refine retrieval.

Answers users can trace back to the document

Hybrid document retrieval

Combine vector and full-text search with structured reranking to find relevant passages across the configured corpus.

Source cards and answer states

Show document title, type, section, page, confidence, and grounded, partial, or unverified status so users can inspect what supported the response.

Clarification and abstention

Ask for missing context or decline to synthesize an answer when the available evidence is too weak, rather than filling gaps silently.

Multi-format document ingestion

Process supported PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, PNG, and JPEG files with visible pages, chunks, assets, versions, effective dates, and indexing state.

Retrieval-time access scope

Apply assigned profiles, explicit document or collection roles, and role-based fallback before material enters retrieval.

Reviewed procedure supersession

Propose, approve, reject, and activate explicit procedure-supersession links, then use reviewed links when reconciling answers.

Make the evidence behind each answer inspectable

Delphi treats retrieval as a reviewable process, not a guarantee of correctness. It exposes where an answer came from, how strongly the available passages support it, and when the user needs to clarify or return to the source.

Traceable

Source context stays attached

Source cards retain the document, type, section, and page context used by the response so a user can open the underlying material.

Honest

Groundedness stays visible

Grounded, partial, and unverified states distinguish the strength of source support instead of presenting all responses with equal authority.

Reviewable

Quality can be investigated

Query logs, feedback, analytics, and evaluation runs give administrators evidence for diagnosing weak retrieval and improving the corpus or configuration.

People retain operational authority

Delphi supports knowledge discovery. It does not certify document currency, determine regulatory applicability, or replace current approved manuals, emergency references, dispatch releases, or operator procedures. Users must verify cited material before operational use.

A knowledge workflow teams can explain

Trust improves when teams can see which documents are searchable, how an answer was supported, and what administrators changed after review.

Curate the source set

Upload supported files, organize collections and categories, record versions and effective dates, monitor indexing, and review procedure supersession before use.

  • Multi-format ingestion with visible processing state
  • Collections, categories, profiles, and access roles
  • Reviewed supersession and effective-date context

Ask, inspect, and verify

Use natural language, examine the cited passages and answer state, then return to the current approved source before relying on the result.

  • Focused and document-scoped conversations
  • Source cards with section and page context
  • Clarification or abstention when evidence is weak

Review and improve

Investigate questions, returned sources, feedback, and evaluation results, then refine the corpus, access profile, or retrieval configuration.

  • Query and activity logs
  • Administrator analytics and feedback
  • Evaluation runs and review signals

What documents can Delphi search?

Delphi ingests operator-uploaded PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, PNG, and JPEG files. Administrators can organize content with categories, collections, versions, effective dates, profiles, and document status. Representative files should be tested before rollout because extraction quality varies with layout and source quality.

How does Delphi support answer verification?

Responses can include source cards with document title, type, section, page, confidence, and a grounded, partial, or unverified state. Those signals help a user inspect support; they do not prove the answer is correct, current, or applicable.

What happens when evidence is weak?

Delphi can request clarification or abstain when retrieved evidence does not support a reliable response. Behavior depends on the configured retrieval and model services and should be evaluated against representative questions before operational use.

Can access be scoped by role?

Yes. Retrieval scope can use assigned profiles, explicit document or collection roles, and a type-based role fallback. Administrators remain responsible for validating that configuration against the operator's identity, least-privilege, and document-access policy.

How is Delphi deployed?

Delphi supports configurable model and data services. Hosting, provider choice, network boundaries, retention, and data residency depend on the agreed implementation and should be documented for each rollout.

Does Delphi replace approved operational references?

No. Delphi is a supplementary knowledge-search and review tool. It does not replace current approved manuals, emergency references, dispatch releases, or operator procedures, and it should not be the sole basis for time-critical or safety-critical action.
