FOLIO · Aurora add-on

FOLIO aviation manual management software

FOLIO adds controlled manual authoring, release, distribution, and acknowledgment evidence to Aurora. Teams can trace the path from draft and approval to the exact content each recipient received.

Private drafts, exact review
Authoring & Review

Private drafts, exact review

Import and structure supported DOCX content, work in user-scoped chapter drafts, and submit frozen proposals that reviewers can compare against the exact live baseline.

Publish the content you approved
Controlled Release

Publish the content you approved

Freeze a current published manual into a reconstructable web release whose chapter bytes, metadata, and manifest are revalidated before assignment.

Acknowledgments you can verify
Distribution Evidence

Acknowledgments you can verify

Assign releases directly to tenant members, set deadlines, require password reauthentication, and distinguish valid receipts from missing or invalid evidence.

From private draft to verifiable release

DOCX import and structured editing

Bring supported DOCX content into a chapter-based workspace with preserved rich formatting, section navigation, change bars, LEP tooling, and controlled exports.

Private chapter drafts

Every chapter edit is scoped to the current author and stays separate from live content until an authorized, revision-checked commit succeeds.

Independent proposal review

Freeze the exact chapter versions under review, show added, removed, modified, moved, or renamed content, and prevent proposal authors from approving their own change.

Controlled web releases

Create a reconstructable release only from a current committed revision, rehash stored chapter bytes, and bind release content and metadata to versioned evidence.

Assignments and acknowledgments

Assign a release directly to tenant members, set a deadline, and collect a password-reauthenticated acknowledgment bound to the release, recipient, name, timestamp, and recorded page time.

Search and evidence exports

Search the complete server-backed chapter tree and export current revision, release, assignment, receipt, and event evidence for internal review.

Preserve what changed, who approved it, and what was received

Folio treats controlled publication as an evidence problem. It keeps draft and live content separate, rejects stale decisions, and exposes incomplete or invalid release evidence instead of hiding it in a completion rate.

Reviewable

Exact review baseline

Proposals retain their base revision and frozen chapter hashes, so approval applies the reviewed content or fails when live content has changed.

Verifiable

Release integrity

Folio recomputes manifest hashes and verifies a versioned server-held seal and ordered event chain when release evidence is read. Corrupt or incomplete evidence fails closed.

Accountable

Receipt status in context

Reports separate valid receipts from invalid evidence, pending obligations, revocations, superseded releases, and withdrawn states instead of flattening them into one completion rate.

People retain release authority

Authorized administrators approve, publish, assign, supersede, or withdraw releases. Folio records those actions and does not replace the operator's document-control policy or regulatory validation.

A controlled lifecycle teams can explain

Document control is stronger when the working draft, the reviewed proposal, the committed manual, the assigned release, and the acknowledgment receipt remain distinct and traceable.

Create without overwriting live content

Import supported DOCX content into rich, structured chapters and let each author work in a private draft that remains separate from the committed manual.

  • Supported DOCX import and structured chapters
  • User-scoped private drafts and change indicators
  • Fail-closed validation for malformed or corrupt content

Review against the live baseline

Freeze the proposal's exact chapter versions and base revision, then show reviewers the content and structure that would change before a decision is recorded.

  • Immutable proposal snapshot
  • Exact added, removed, modified, moved, and renamed diff
  • Revision checks and independent administrator decision

Prove release state

Freeze approved content into a reconstructable release, assign it within the tenant, and retain the receipt and event evidence needed for internal review.

  • Content and metadata manifest with versioned seal
  • Tenant-bound assignments and acknowledgment receipts
  • Ordered signed event report and evidence exports

What does Folio control?

Folio is a tenant-isolated workspace for importing, structuring, reviewing, searching, and publishing aviation operations manuals. Its controlled-release workflow keeps private drafts, approved live content, assigned releases, acknowledgments, and internal evidence connected without treating one screen as proof of regulatory approval.

How are draft changes reviewed?

Authors edit user-scoped private chapter drafts. When submitted, Folio freezes the exact proposed chapter versions and base revision. An authorized administrator who did not author the proposal can compare the diff and approve or reject it; stale approval attempts fail instead of overwriting newer live content.

How does Folio protect a published release?

Before a controlled web release is assigned, Folio rehashes the stored chapter bytes, binds content and metadata into a manifest, and applies versioned server-held HMAC evidence. Reads verify the manifest, seal, and ordered event chain and fail closed on corruption.

How are acknowledgments recorded?

Administrators can assign a release directly to tenant members and set a deadline. The reader opens the frozen content and reauthenticates with a password before acknowledging. The receipt is bound to the tenant, release, assignment, recipient, name, timestamp, and recorded page time; reports separate valid receipts from invalid evidence.

Can Folio import existing manuals?

Folio supports a DOCX-oriented import and structured editing workflow for supported formatting. Before rollout, the operator should validate headings, lists, tables, images, numbering, TOC and LEP, headers, footers, and export fidelity against representative manuals.

Does Folio replace regulatory or legal judgment?

No. Folio supports controlled workflows and application-level tamper evidence; it does not certify a manual, determine regulatory applicability, provide legal non-repudiation, or replace the operator's approval and retention policy. Authority acceptance remains an implementation responsibility.
